As an Event Specialist, you’ll play a critical role in attracting and retaining talent to drive the growth of the photonic chip industry. You’ll take charge of talent-focused events such as career fairs, community gatherings, and partner meetings. Additionally, you’ll play a pivotal role in PIC Summit Europe, our international flagship event, ensuring sponsors have an outstanding experience as the delivery lead. 

About the Role 

Events are central to PhotonDelta’s strategy, providing a platform to engage with talent, the existing community, build awareness about photonic chip technology, and position PhotonDelta as a leading global reference. In this emerging industry, where attracting the right talent is essential, events are a vital tool for connecting with students, professionals, and partners. 

What you will do 

As an Event Specialist, you are part of the Events team and will work closely with the Human Capital team to develop and execute events that showcase the exciting career opportunities in the Photonic Chip industry. You’ll collaborate with ecosystem partners and suppliers to deliver engaging experiences that inspire individuals to start or advance their careers in the photonic chip industry. For our flagship event, PIC Summit Europe, you will serve as the primary point of contact for all sponsors.  

As our Event Specialist, you will be contributing to numerous activities, such as: 

  • Planning: Plan relevant talent events in collaboration with the PhotonDelta team and ecosystem partners, including the definition of objectives and expectations. 
  • Logistics: Organise the events from A-Z: coordinate with suppliers, registrations, on-site management, and overall logistics, etc., ensuring a smooth roll-out of the event. 
  • Delivery: Be the first point of contact for all partners, speakers, and participants. Informing them and gathering all necessary input to make sure we deliver on our promises. 
  • Content: Ensure the content is coherent with the event’s topic and objective and is conveyed in a professional manner. 
  • Communication: Ensure the various communication messages will be available and are on point (save-the-date, invitation, programme, abstract, etc.) and work with the marketing & communications team to promote the event through relevant channels in order to maximise attendance and return on investment; 
  • Reporting: Create a budget and report to summarise the event’s performance metrics. 

To succeed in this role, you’ll need: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, preferably within an international environment. 
  • Experience with organising physical (and virtual) events. 
  • To be detail-orientated and have good time-management skills. 
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills. 
  • Good writing and conversational skills in English and conversational skills in Dutch are a pre.  
  • Affinity for talent and the tech industry. 
  • To work independently in a high-paced environment 
  • Available to work 36-40 hours per week. 
  • A valid working permit if you’re from outside the European Union. 
  • A driver’s license is a pre
